WHO IS ALLAH?

All the praises for Allah, who is the author of all existence and the most generous to his creation, while HE (swt) is also the all compelling.

HE (swt) is the only one worthy of our worship having no partners, no associates, no sons, no daughters, no one whom he must consult.

And no one or anything has any comparison with HIM (swt). All praise is for Allah, who is the king of all who claim sovereignty.

The only one who has the right to legislate for HIS creations. HE (swt) is the giver of life, HE (swt) is the causer of death while death has no effect upon HIM (swt) because HE is the ever living, the self subsisting, the eternal and the only absolute.

All the praises  for Allah, who has power over all things and there is in reality no power, and no strength, no influence to cause benefit or death to men except through HIM (swt).

It is HE (swt) who created this complex world, the seen and the unseen, the evident and the hidden, the earth and all over that is on it and everything that is in it. It is HE (swt) who sent HIS messengers and prophets (peace be upon them all) with the common message of strict monothiesm which simply means that there is absolutely no one worthy of worship, no one worthy of our obeidience except the almighty the one the absolute and who has no partners.

The Quran 59:22–24

Al-Quran 59:22. He is Allah. There is no god but He, the Knower of secrets and declarations. He is the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Al-Quran 59:23. He is Allah; besides Whom there is no god; the Sovereign, the Holy, the Peace-Giver, the Faith-Giver, the Overseer, the Almighty, the Omnipotent, the Overwhelming. Glory be to Allah, beyond what they associate.

Al-Quran 59:24.  He is Allah; the Creator, the Maker, the Designer. His are the Most Beautiful Names. Whatever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him. He is the Majestic, the Wise.

ALLAH

The Muslims prefer calling the Supreme Creator, Allah, instead of by the English word ‘God’. The Arabic word, ‘Allah’, is pure and unique, unlike the English word ‘God’, which can be played around with.

If you add ‘s’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Gods’, that is the plural of God. Allah is one and singular, there is no plural of Allah. If you add ‘dess’ to the word God, it becomes ‘Goddess’ that is a female God. There is nothing like male Allah or female Allah. Allah has no gender. If you add the word ‘father’ to ‘God’ it becomes ‘God-father’. God-father means someone who is a guardian. There is no word like ‘Allaah-Abba’ or ‘Allaah-father’. If you add the word ‘mother’ to ‘God’, it becomes ‘God-mother’. There is nothing like ‘Allaah-Ammi’, or ‘Allaah-mother’ in Islam. Allaah is a unique word. If you prefix tin before the word God, it becomes tin-God i.e., fake God.

Allaah is a unique word, which does not conjure up any mental picture nor can it be played around with. Therefore the Muslims prefer using the Arabic word ‘Allaah’ for the Almighty. Sometimes, however, while speaking to the non-Muslims we may have to use the inappropriate word God, for Allah. Since the intended audience of this article is general in nature, consisting of both Muslims as well as non-Muslims, I have used the word God instead of Allaah in several places in this article.

God does not become a human being:

Some may argue that God does not become a human being but only takes a human form. If God only takes a human form but does not become a human being, He should not possess any human qualities. We know that all the ‘God-men’, have human qualities and failings. They have all the human needs such as the need to eat, sleep, etc.

The worship of God in human form is therefore a logical fallacy and should be abhorred in all its forms and manifestations.

That is the reason why the Qur’an speaks against all forms of anthropomorphism. The Glorious Qur’an says in the following verse:

“There is nothing whatever like unto Him.”  [Al-Qur’an 42:11]

WHO IS ALLAH?

“QABRON KI PUJA” “Grave Worship”

Be Aware of “QABRON KI PUJA” “Grave Worship” (Shirk):

In many Muslim countries around the world people build Masjids on the graves of pious people, these are sometimes called “Dargah” or “Mazar” etc. And people go to those places and ask the dead person to give them a child or whatever they need “Grave Worship”. Now asking anyone but Allah (Subhana Wa Ta’ala) for anything is Shirk. Here we want to clear up that from the Qur’an and very clear Sahih Hadith that we are NOT supposed to build structures or Masjids on the graves of pious people or anyone else.

It is also shirk to make a vow to any other than Allaah, as is done by those who vow to bring candles or lights for the occupants of the graves. Please Don’t follow blindly what your parents and relatives did. Also try to know what our prophet (peace be upon him) and Qur’an says.

Lets analyze – In the light of Hadith: 

Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 8, Hadith # 419
Narrated A’isha (R.A) Um Habiba (R.A) and Um Salama (R.A) mentioned about a church they had seen in Ethiopia in which there were pictures. They told the Prophet (S.A.W) about it, on which he said, “If any religious man dies amongst those people they would build a place of worship at his grave and make these pictures in it. They will be the worst creature in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection.”

Sahih Muslim: Book 4, Hadith # 2116
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah (R.A) Rasulullah (S.A.W) forbade that the graves should be plastered, or they be used as sitting places (for the people), or a building should be built over them.
Note: This hadith makes it very clear that we are NOT supposed to build ANYTHING over them. May Allah (Swt) save us , as many of the Muslim today build strong plastered graves and this is against the order of Rasulullah (S.A.W)!

Sahih Al-Bkhari: Volume 1, Book 8, Hadith # 427
Narrated A’isha (R.A) and ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (R.A) When the last moment of the life of Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) came he started putting his ‘Khamisa’ on his face and when he felt hot and short of breath he took it off his face and said, “May Allah curse the Jews and Christians for they built the places of worship at the graves of their Prophets.” The Prophet (S.A.W) was warning (Muslims) of what those had done.

Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 8, Hadith # 428
Narrated Abu Huraira (RAA) Rasulullah (SAW) said, “May Allah’s curse be on the Jews for they built the places of worship at the graves of their Prophets.”

Sahih Muslim Book 4, Number 1083
Narrated Jundub ibn Abdullah (R.A) “I heard from the Apostle of Allah (SAW) five days before his death and he said: I stand acquitted before Allah that I took anyone of you as friend, for Allah has taken me as His friend, as he took Ibrahim as His friend. Had I taken any one of my Ummah as a friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a friend. Beware of those who preceded you and used to take the graves of their prophets and righteous men as places of worship, but you must not take graves as mosques; I forbid you to do that.

Sahih Muslim Book 4, Hadith # 2121
Narrated Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi (R.A) Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W) said: Do not sit on the graves and do not pray facing towards them.

In the light of Qur’an: 

They belief that dead Awliyaa’ (“saints”) can fulfil one’s needs or help at times of distress, and calling upon them for aid.
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him . . .” [Al-Israa, 17:23]

Similarly, they call upon dead Prophets, righteous people and others to intercede for them or to rescue them from some calamity, but
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Little do you remember. [An-Naml, 27:62]

Some of them have adopted the habit of mentioning the name of a shaykh or wali (“saint”) when they stand up, or sit down, or stumble, or encounter problems or distress, so they might say “O Muhammad!” or “O ‘Ali!” or “O Husayn!” or “O Badawi!” or “O Jeelaani!” or “O Shaadhili!” or “O Rifaa’i!” – or they may call upon al-’Aydaroos or Sayyidah Zaynab or Ibn ‘Alwaan.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
Indeed, those whom you call upon besides Allah are servants like you. So call upon them and let them respond to you, if you should be truthful. [Al-A’raf, 7:194]

Some of those who worship graves walk around them as if in “Tawaaf” and acknowledge their corners or touch them, kiss them, wipe their faces with their dust, prostrate towards them when they see them or stand before them in fear and humility, praying for whatever they need of healing from some disease, or for a child or for help with some difficulty. Sometimes they call upon the occupant of the grave, saying “O my master, I have come to you from far away, so do not let me down.”

But Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever dies calling on someone else as a rival to Allah, will enter Hell.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 8/176).

Some of them shave their heads at the graves, and some have books with titles like Manaasik Hajj al-Mashaahid (“The Rituals of Pilgrimage to Shrines”), mashaahid or shrines referring to graves or tombs of ‘Awliyaa’. Some of them believe that the ‘Awliyaa’ are running the affairs of the universe and that they have the power to benefit or harm (Astagfirullah).

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. [Al-Yunus, 10:107]

It is also shirk to make a vow to any other than Allah, as is done by those who vow to bring candles or lights for the occupants of the graves.
Those who worship anyone but Allah or associate partners with Allah, Allah says the following in the Quran:

“And invoke not besides Allah any that will neither profit you nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the polytheists and wrong doers. And if Allah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His favours which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He wills. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” [Qur’an, 10: 106-107]

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray. [Qur’an, 4:116]

“Verily whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah Has forbidden paradise for him and the fire will be his abode” [Qur’an, 5:72]

ALLAH’S PUNISHMENT FOR WORSHIPPING ANYONE OR ASSOCIATING ANY PARTNERS TO HIM IS HELL / JAHANNUM – WITH NO RETURN AND NO FORGIVENESS.

WHAT DOES ISLAM SAY ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY AND LESBIANISM?

Homosexuality: “This sin, the impact of which makes one’s skin crawl, which words cannot describe, is evidence of perverted instincts, total collapse of shame and honor, and extreme filthiness of character and soul… The heavens, the Earth, and the mountains tremble from the impact of this sin. The angels shudder as they anticipate the punishment of Allah to descend upon the people who commit this indescribable sin.”

 Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Fawzan, The Evil Sin of Homosexuality

Islam doesn’t merely disapprove homosexuality, it terms it as a vile and evil sin that is considered worse than fornication and adultery and is punishable by stoning to death.

The homosexual person goes against the natural fitrah (disposition) which Allah has created for mankind and Allah has warned against falling into such evil sins. The homosexuality causes various diseases that no one can deny. It causes families to break up and may lead a person to leave his work and family because he is occupied with such perversions. A person is left with no shame and honor.  Allah has forbidden it and any sane, reasonable and modest person would not question on the prohibition of this immorality. As a Muslim, we must believe that whatever Allah has forbidden is indeed harmful to mankind and vice-versa.

Ibn al-Qayyim said: 

Both of them – fornication and homosexuality – involve immorality that goes against the wisdom of Allaah’s creation and commandment. For homosexuality involves innumerable evil and harms, and the one to whom it is done would be better off being killed than having this done to him, because after that he will become so evil and so corrupt that there can be no hope of his being reformed, and all good is lost for him, and he will no longer feel any shame before Allaah or before His creation. The semen of the one who did that to him will act as a poison on his body and soul. The scholars differed as to whether the one to whom it is done will ever enter Paradise. There are two opinions which I heard Shaykh al-Islam (may Allaah have mercy on him) narrate.”

(Al-Jawaab al-Kaafi, p. 115).

Quranic evidence:

“…For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds…. And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone)” –Quran (7:80-84)

From this verse, we can conclude that the man who prefers a man over women are indeed transgressors and liable to punishment and their punishment is death by stoning as what happened to the people of Lot. It is an interpretation of the majority of Muslim scholars that the “raining of stones” means the destruction of such people by stoning. (Inexplicably, the story is also repeated in three other suras: 15:74, 27:58 and 29:40).

“Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?”  Quran (7:18)

This verse clearly establishes that homosexuality as a different form and much worse than the adultery and fornication. According to Arabic grammar, it is called as worst sin whereas other forms of Zina are considered as great sins. From here we can conclude that it is indeed a great evil.

Other Quranic evidence:

“Verily, you practice your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins)’” (al-A’raaf 7:80-81)

“Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Loot (Lot), them We saved in the last hour of the night” (al-Qamar 54:34)

“And (remember) Loot (Lot), when he said to his people: ‘you commit Al‑Faahishah (sodomy the worst sin) which none has preceded you in (committing) it in the ‘Aalameen (mankind and jinn)’” (al-‘Ankaboot 29:28)

Allah mentions in glorious Quran that none of the mankind or Jinn’s had committed such worst sins before the people of Lut (AS) and this was the reason for their destruction. It is a clear warning of Allah aza-wa-jal to mankind to stay away from it.

 “And (remember) Loot (Lot), We gave him Hukm (right judgment of the affairs and Prophethood) and (religious) knowledge, and We saved him from the town (folk) who practiced Al‑Khabaa’ith (evil, wicked and filthy deeds). Verily, they were a people given to evil and were Faasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah)” (al-Anbiya’ 21:74)

The deed of homosexuality is termed as a vile, evil and filthy deed by Allah aza-wa-jal. This is the immorality which has no place in Islamic society.

Evidence from Hadith and Sira:

It was narrated that Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him): “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘There is nothing I fear for my ummah more than the deed of the people of Loot.’” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1457; Ibn Maajah, 2563.)

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “… cursed is the one who has intercourse with an animal, cursed is the one who does the action of the people of Loot.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 1878.)

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever you find doing the deed of the people of Loot, kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1456.)

{This Hadith : Kill the one who does it……   is for Muslim ruler, not for Common Muslims.}

In most of the Islamic countries where shariah law is strictly applied, homosexuals are beheaded,  killed by stoning or throwing from rooftops.

We as a Muslim should never support such LGBT or homosexual groups and should never think leniently about them. They don’t deserve sympathy and should be condemned. Neither should a Muslim engage in such evil practices unless he wishes to dwell in the pit of fire for the eternity.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Leader of the Messengers, and upon all his family and companions. To proceed:

The month of Allah Muharram is a great and blessed month. It is the first month of the Hijri year and is one of the sacred months concerning which Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred, (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein”

[Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36].

It was narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “… The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu al-Qa‘dah, Dhu al-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumaada and Sha‘baan.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2958).

Muharram is so called because it is a sacred (muharram) month; this further emphasizes its sanctity.

The words of Allah (interpretation of the meaning): “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36] mean: (do not wrong yourselves) in these sacred months, because doing so is a greater sin than at other times.

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said, concerning the words of Allah “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36]:
(The command not to wrong yourself) applies in all months, then Allah singled out four months and made them sacred, and emphasised their sanctity, and He made sin during these months more grave, and He made righteous deeds and the reward thereof greater. Qataadah said, concerning the words “so wrong not yourselves therein”: Wrongdoing during the sacred months is more serious and incurs a greater burden of sin than in other months.

Wrongdoing is a serious matter in any circumstances, but Allah makes whatever He wills of His commands carry more weight. And he said:

Allah has chosen elites from His creation: from among the angels He chose Messengers, from among mankind He chose Messengers, from among speech He chose remembrance of Him (dhikr), from among spaces on earth He chose the mosques, from among the months He chose Ramadan and the sacred months, from among days He chose Friday (Jumu‘ah), and from among nights He chose Laylat al-Qadr. So venerate that which has been chosen by Allah, for people of understanding and wisdom respect that which has been chosen by Allah.

End quote from Tafseer Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him), commentary on Soorat at-Tawbah verse 36

The virtue of observing a great deal of naafil (supererogatory) fasts during the month of Muharram

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best fast after Ramadan is in the month of Allah Muharram.”

Narrated by Muslim (1982).

The phrase “the month of Allah (shahr Allah)” is indicative of the veneration this month deserves, as it is attributed to Allah (in a genitive or idaafah phrase). Al-Qaari said: What appears to be the case is that what is meant is the entire month of Muharram.

But it is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) never fasted any month in full apart from Ramadan. So this hadeeth is to be understood as meaning that it is encouraged to fast a great deal during the month of Muharram, not to fast the entire month.

It is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) fasted a great deal during Sha‘baan, and perhaps the virtue of Muharram was not revealed to him until the end of his life, before he was able to fast during this month.

Allah chooses whatever He wills of times and places

Al-‘Izz ibn ‘Abd as-Salaam (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Superiority of times and places is of two types, the first of which is in worldly terms and the second is in religious or spiritual terms because of what Allah bestows upon His slaves at those times and in those places of a greater reward for deeds, such as the greater virtue of fasting Ramadan over fasting in other months or on the day of ‘Ashoora’. Its virtue is due to Allah’s generosity and kindness to His slaves during it.

Qawaa‘id al-Ahkaam (1/38)

May Allah sent blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.

IS ORAL OR ANAL SEX PERMISSIBLE IN ISLAM?

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, 

Islam is a religion of modesty. It promotes modesty and shame in every act we do. In fact, modesty is something that differentiates a person from the animal. However, the issues of sexual behavior must be discussed and one should not shy away from learning about these matters as even the Sahaba (may Allah be pleased with them) would not shy away from asking questions about intimacy.

Our Prophet (saw) would also advise and teach people upon such matters despite being the most modest person the world has known. He would never be ashamed to teach the truth.

1. The first issue is regarding Oral Sex. Is it permissible? 

There are differing views about this according to different scholars. Most of the Muslim scholars are of the opinion that oral sex is permissible (halal) but disliked. As long as it does not involve swallowing the semen it is okay.

This could be said as there is no clear evidence in Quran and Sunnah that forbids it.

Shedding some more light on the issue, as far as oral sex involves kissing the private parts where there is no involvement of swallowing the semen (Mani) or pre-ejaculatory fluid (Madhi) than it is permissible, although disliked. Also, the act must not be forced on anyone and must not cause harm.

However if by oral sex means to swallow the filth, it is not permissible. The filth in all forms taken in a mouth is unlawful. These fluids are impure thus taking them orally is not permissible. If the same act is performed using a condom and filthy fluids are avoided then there is no problem in that.

In conclusion, It is not prohibited and is not haram but due to the nature of this act it is not considered to be a proper conduct of a Muslim, The mouth that is used in the Dikhr of Allah, recite Quran and send salutations on Prophet Muhammad (saw), cannot be used in such filthy and dirty practices and should be avoided. A Muslim of high morality and conduct will not imitate a non-Muslim and will avoid it.

2. The second issue is regarding Anal Sex. Is it permissible? 

There is no question in the fact that anal sex is totally prohibited in Islam. As Allah azawajal mentions in holy Quran clearly: “Say: They are hurt and a pollution; so keep away from women in their courses and do not approach them until they are clean. But when they have purified themselves ye may approach them in a manner, time, or place ordained for you by Allah. For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and he loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.” (Quran, 2:222)

One may find many narrations regarding this issue of Messenger of Allah (saw) that forbid it straight away. “The one who has intercourse with his wife in her anus has disavowed himself of that which was revealed to Muhammad ﷺ.” (Abu Dawud) “Allah will not look (with mercy) at the one that has anal sex with his wife” (meaning on the day of Qiyamah). (Sunan Nasa’i) “Allah will not look at a man who has intercourse with a woman in her anus.” (Tirmidhi)

“Allah is not too shy, to tell the truth,” three times. “Do not have intercourse with women in their back passages.” (Ibn Majah)

“Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 2157 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (saw) said: the who has intercourse with his wife through her anus is accursed.”

“Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 3895 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (saw) said: If anyone resorts to a diviner and believes in what he says, or has intercourse with his wife when she is menstruating or has intercourse with his wife through her anus, he has nothing to do with what has been sent down to Muhammad (saw)!”

In conclusion, it is totally haram and must be abstained from. May Allah guide us.

3. Sex during menstruation (Haidh) 

The Quran and clearly prohibited the intercourse of a husband and a wife during menstruation. Allah Azawajal says in Holy Quran: “They ask you (O Prophet) regarding menstruation. Say It his hurtful and impure. So abstain from women (sexually) in menstruation.” (Sura al-Baqarah, V.222) Also In numerous hadith, it is mentioned that intercourse during menstruation is unlawful. The Prophet (saw) said: “Approach from the front or the back, but avoid anal sex and sex during menstruation.” (Tirmidhi) Hence it is unlawful and must be avoided.

May Allah guide us and protect us.
