Shaytaan was the resident of heaven but because of his arrogance, he was expelled from the heaven. The enmity of Shaytaan (devil) towards Adam and his descendants is ancient and wants no good for them. He knows what his end is like and wishes the same for the son of Adam (AS) as well.
Our mother and father (Eve and Adam AS) dwelled in paradise by Allah’s permission but Shaytaan came to them made the disobedience to Allah attractive to them. He whispered to them and they, in their folly, obliged. Thus Adam AS disobeyed his Lord and was expelled from the paradise. Allah warns us against obeying the Shaytaan.
He says
“O Children of Adam! Let not Shaytaan (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Hawwa’ (Eve)] out of Paradise”
[al-A’raaf 7:27]
The enmity of Shaytaan towards mankind is clear and obvious. He has been given recompense until the day of judgment but on the day of truth and justice, he will confess to his crimes. He will confess that there is no God but Allah. Those among the mankind who had been deceived will regret and repent but their repentance will be of no avail. And Shaytaan will say
“And Shaytaan (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: ‘Verily, Allaah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, and you responded to me.
So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allaah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers)’”
[Ibraaheem 14:22]
Shaytaan has promised 4 things to the son of Adam. These are:
1. I will lead them astray, servants of Shaitan!
He will make people deviate from the path of Allah. He will make them disbelieve in the oneness of Allah. He will deceive them into worshipping other gods, but Allah.
2. I will give them their forth passions and desires.
Shaytaan will make people follow their desires and passions, blindly and without thinking. People will give their whole energy and time to their desires. They won’t think twice before fulfilling them, even if it meant breaking the laws and limits set by Allah aza-wa-jal. It encompasses two categories:
A. Persons carnal desires: One’s desire for flesh i.e. sex. Our society today is sex-driven society. There is the huge promotion of “safe” but illegal sexual intercourse. People prefer living in relations but not getting married. People don’t want to take the responsibility of the family. One night stand is all that one aims for whereas Sex in Islam is supposed to be a spiritual thing.
B. Materials of this world: Shaytaan will delude the mankind into believing in the aspirations of this world. He will make this Duniya for the purpose of this life. Thus making them forget the hereafter.
3. I will command them and they will slit the ear of the cattle, disfigure the creation of Allah, playing with Allah’s creation
Don’t we see people who have disfigured or mutilated themselves because that is what they consider beautiful? Don’t we see a rise in plastic surgeries because people are not content with themselves?
Don’t we see how humans transform themselves to look live horrible devilish creatures or animals? Don’t we see people adorned with tattoos and piercing that is not normal? Allah-hu -Akbar. This is exactly what Shaytaan has promised!
4. I will command them and they will change the creation of Allah, playing with the creation of Allah.
Indeed the mankind is believing in the lies of Shaytaan. They are playing with the creation of Allah. The GM (Genetically Modified) foods. Cloning of animals and plants. Changing the natural course of things, all get included in this.
May Allah protect us all.
