Is Celebrating New Year for Muslim Valid?

HAPPY NEW YEAR : Celebrating New Year for Muslim Valid Or Not?

Answer :
All praise be to Allah

Happy New Year :- January is named after Janus, the Roman god of doors and gateways. He was commonly depicted in statues, carvings and paintings as a two headed man with one head facing forward and the other head facing backwards.

In 46BC Julius Caesar chose January 1st as the first day of the New Year as Janus symbolically represented the door to the New Year.

Wild parties and orgies were held on the night before the New Year’s Day as a re-enactment of the chaos which Roman mythology depicted as preceding the cosmos or the ordered world whose organization was set by the gods.

Furthermore, by that time, Janus had become, in practice, the highest god receiving the ritual sacrifices of Roman worshippers before the other gods, including the chief god, Jupiter.

happy new year

Thus, in its essence the celebrations of the Happy New Year on January 1st and New Year’s Eve, the night before, are a part and parcel of pagan religious rituals based on idolatrous beliefs in false gods.

Consequently, it is completely Haraam (sinful and forbidden) for Muslims to participate in or adopt any of its related rituals, customs and symbols.

If a Non-Muslim greets a Muslim, “Happy New Year”, the Muslim is not allowed to respond in a similar manner or say, “Same to you.” Instead, in order not to offend or hurt the feelings of Non-Muslim friends or acquaintances, one may say instead, “Happy holiday.”

As for celebrating the Happy New Year according to the Islamic calendar which begins with the month of Muharram, this is also not permissible from a number of perspectives.

First and foremost, if one does so believing that it is pleasing to Allah to do so, thereby transforming it into an act of worship, it becomes a Bid‘ah or cursed innovation in the religion about which the Prophet (pbuh) said, “Every innovation in religion is misguidance and all misguidance leads to the Hellfire.”

If one does so merely as a custom, it is still impermissible as it falls under the prohibition of imitation of pagan customs about which the Prophet (pbuh) said, “Whoever imitates a people becomes one of them.”

[1] Pope Gregory 13th who set the modern calendar, the Gregorian calendar, also officially fixed the first day of the year for Christian Europe as January 1st in 1582.

4 Reasons Why Muslims Shouldn’t Celebrate New Year’s

1) It is technically inaccurate – & pagan

happy new year

As Muslims, we have our own calendar that has been in constant use for 1400 years. Even though we may end up using the Gregorian calendar due to circumstances beyond our control, we know for a fact that Allāh has ordained the use of the lunar calendar for us in our worship – and therefore, by extension, our daily lives.

According to our Hijri calendar (initiated by the great Sahaaba Umar ®), the new year actually begins on the first of Muharram.

The Gregorian calendar (so called because it was developed by Pope Gregory) decided on the 1st of January as the Happy New Year to celebrate the circumcision of Jesus.

Its origin – like so many Western holidays – lies in the pagan Roman festivals associated with Janus – the two headed deity who symbolised change.

2). What exactly is there to celebrate?

Any celebration by Muslims needs to be put into context of the local and global situation of the Ummah. The two Eids amply do so by encouraging prayers, duaa for those suffering and alms to the needy.

However, celebrating Happy New Years does no such thing. It is a celebration that is completely cut off from the reality of the rest of the Ummah.

The starvation in Somalia, the murder in Syria, the imprisonment of Gaza, the ethnic cleansing of Burma – celebrating New Year’s is pretty much exactly the opposite of the “fever and wakefulness” that the Prophet (peace be upon him) spoke about when he said we were like one body.

happy new year

Salahuddin Ayyubi was once asked why he hardly ever smiled even though this was a sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

He replied, “How can I smile when I know that masjid Al-Aqsa is being defiled and the Muslims are suffering?!”

That attitude, dear brothers and sisters, is why he liberated Jerusalem and why we’re still debating on whether or not it is acceptable to send “Happy New Year” messages.

3) It usually involves un-Islamic practices

Let’s be honest. When you picture Happy New Year’s Eve celebration, you don’t picture people sitting in a segregated environment reading from the Qurʾān & Hadiths and reminding each other towards good as the clock strikes midnight.

Instead, they are (and I know this is a generalisation) mixed gender events where people wear fashionable clothes, dance and sing songs, etc. It is necessarily an Islam free zone, not least because it has no basis or relationship to Islam.

4) It is against the spirit of Islam

I am well aware that there is a difference of opinion on this matter between scholars, and I respect that. However, there are a few points I’d make to that.

Firstly, the number of scholars who condone the celebration of Happy New Years are in the absolute minority.

Secondly, the scholars who do condone it almost never actually celebrate New Years themselves or with their families – at least not in public – showing that even though they may believe it acceptable, it is not preferable.

Thirdly, many of them predicate their views based on a number of caveats – that it is no longer a pagan or Christian ritual, that it is good da‘wah to non-Muslims and that it not involve any un-Islamic element. Most of these caveats are difficult if not impossible to satisfy adequately.

This is meant to be a gentle reminder and not a harsh rebuke. It would be against the spirit of Islam to not show kindness and respect to non-Muslims. We are encouraged to be warm and welcoming, not least because it will attract others to our faith.

happy new year

But there are many ways to showcase our manners and act as ambassadors for our faith without having to adopt the celebrations of others.

By adopting the celebrations of others, we are not harmlessly saying a few words or just enjoying ourselves.

We are opening the door to disappearing within the dominant culture, to a future in which our children may have Muslim names, but are otherwise indistinguishable from non-Muslims in their habits, customs and appearances.

This issue occupied the minds of greater people than us – Uthman (R), Ali (R) and many other of the greatest Sahaaba.

When the great assemblage of the companions of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) had discussed this issue at length, the matter was brought to a close by the wise words of Caliph Umar (R) that are as relevant today as they were then.

He said, “The Hijrah has separated truth from falsehood, therefore, let it become the epoch of the era.”

Main Point :
A Muslim should not celebrate New Year.

Dr. Zakir Naik : Jesus or Muhammad (Pbut)

jesus or muhammad
Dr. Zakir Naik

Islam is the only Non Christian faith which makes an article of faith to believe in Jesus (pbuh). We believe that He was one of the mightiest Messenger of Allah, we believe He was a Messiah translated Christ, we believe He was born miraculously without any male intervention, we believe that He gave life to the death with God permission. (Jesus or Muhammad)

The Christians and Muslims we are going together but there is parting of faith. The parting of faith is that many of the Christians they claim and they think that Jesus (pbuh) He claim divinity and He was almighty God.

Many Christians say if Prophet Jesus (pbuh) born miraculously, He had a mother but had no father so doesn’t it make him superior than Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) indicating that doesn’t it make him God.

If you say Jesus (pbuh) is superior or you claim Him to be God because He was born miraculously. Allah says in Quran:

The similitude of Jesus (pbuh) in front of Allah is the same as Adam (pbuh), He was made from dust and Allah say be and He was. If you say Jesus (pbuh) is God because He had no father in that context according to Quran and Bible Adam (pbuh) had no mother and father that makes Him a greater God.

jesus or muhammad

Nowhere in Quran and nowhere in Bible says that because a person has no father he becomes Almighty God. Allah is the best to create and he wants to show people His power and normally human being is born with the mother and father.

We had a example of Adam (pbuh) who was born without a father and mother and we have a last example pending was a person being born without a father which He fulfill in the birth of Jesus (pbuh).

We Muslims believe and even the Bible says that Jesus (pbuh) did not die. Allah says in the Quran that He was not kill neither He was crucified but Allah raised Him up unto Himself.

Now the question is that if Jesus (pbuh) did not die he is alive doesn’t He the greater Prophet than the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The answer of this question is that the Jesus (pbuh) is the only Messenger of Allah whose followers mistook Him that He claim divinity.

There is not a single prophet of Almighty Allah whose followers mistook them that they claim divinity. He was the only Prophet whose followers mistook Him That he claim He was god That is why Allah raised Him up Alive so that in His second Coming He could testify to these people that He never claim divinity.

Allah says in Quran :

jesus or muhammad

That in His second coming He will tell to Allah that You being my witness. I never told them to worship me, i told them worship Allah who is my lord and your Lord and the same thing is mentioned in Bible that in his second coming when people will say ”O Master O Mater” did we not do the wonders and miracles in your name.

He will say O evil men i don’t even know you, you depart from here so Allah has raised jesus (pbuh) alive because in His second coming He will not give any new message because Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the last and final messenger which is mentioned in the Quran.

After him and after the Quran was revealed nothing new can be added or subtracted from the religion of Islam. He will come as the Ummat of Muhammad (pbuh).

He will come not to give any new teaching but to testify to the followers that He never claim divinity and He is the messenger of Allah.

jesus or muhammad

So the major difference between the Muslims and the Christians is that most of the Christians think that He claim divinity in fact if you read the Bible there is not a single unequivocal statement in the complete Bible where Jesus (pbuh) Himself says that I am God or where He says worship me.

If any christian can point out a single verse in the Bible, a single unequivocal statement where jesus (pbuh) Himself says that I am God or where He says worship Me. I am ready to accept Christianity today.

So Jesus (pbuh) never claim divinity but He was one of the mightiest messenger of Almighty Allah.

All praise be to Allah.

The following are 6 Muslim beliefs about Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) every Christian must know.

1. One cannot be a Muslim without believing in Jesus Christ

A believer is not a believer if he/she does not believe in the prophet Jesus Christ or Isa (AS). A Muslim must believe and respect all the prophets, from Adam to Muhammad (peace be upon him).

jesus christ
Jesus Christ (Pbuh)

Say, [O believers], “We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus Christ and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.” Qur’an, 2:136

Allah mentions Jesus in Quran along with other prophets.

2. He had a miraculous birth

A believer in Islamic faith believes that Jesus Christ (pbuh) was born miraculously without a father. He was born to virgin Mary (Maryam(AS)). Mary is also respected and venerated by Muslims all across the world. Allah has mentioned this event in Quran and a full chapter in Quran is named after her.

3. He performed miracles

Yes, we believe that Jesus Christ (pbuh) performed many miracles by the will of Allah such as creating a bird from clay or curing the blind and leper and bringing the dead back to life.

jesus christ

And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of God .

And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of God. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers. Qur’an, 3:49

Allah explained in Quran that if Jesus (pbuh) was able to perform these miracles only by the permission and will of Allah lest people start thinking he was God.

4. He is not God

Muslims do believe that Jesus is Messenger of God, sent to guide people but he was not divine. Muslims don’t believe in his divinity. They don’t acknowledge him as the God or son of God. They believe him to be a human being like themselves who was given the task of conveying the message of oneness of God to people.

5. He was not crucified

jesus christ
Jesus Christ

Christians believe that Jesus Christ (pbuh) was crucified but Muslims don’t and differ in this belief. Muslims believe that Jesus Christ (pbuh) was raised to heaven by God and one of his foes was made to look like him, who was crucified instead.

And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah .” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Qur’an 4:157

6. Jesus Christ will return

Muslims believe that Jesus Christ (pbuh) is in heaven and will be sent to Earth once again before the final day of the world and establish peace in the world.

As part of a longer narration, the Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said:

“By the one whose hands my life is in, surely the Son of Mary will descend amongst you as a just ruler…” Sahih Al Bukhari

All praise be to Allah.

The Christmas (Jesus birthday) is a Christian festival and is improved (innovated) by polytheists. It isn’t admissible for a Muslim to praise it or welcome (greet) it to anybody as it is an impersonation of Kuffaar. Additionally, Esa (Alaihi Salaam) has nothing to do with it or them.

Aside from being a development (innovation), it goes under the heading of emulating doubters (disbelievers) in their religion.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated: “Whoever emulates a people is one of them.”

Described by Abu Dawood (3512); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood. Its isnaad was classed as jayyid by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, who stated:

jesus birthday

The minimum that can be said about this hadith is that it infers that it is disallowed to mimic (imitate) them. Anyway the obvious significance demonstrates that the person who copies them is a doubter (disbeliever), as Allah, may He be lifted up, says: “And on the off chance that any among you accepts them as Awliya’ ((companions, defenders, aides, etc.)), definitely he is one of them” [al-Maa’idah 5:51].

Saluting or welcome a non-muslim on the event of Christmas or some other religious celebrations is haram as per the majority of researchers (scholars). It is on the grounds that it suggests that you affirm of what they do and venerate (worship). It implies you endorse of their skepticism (disbelief).

Regardless of whether he doesn’t favor of this skepticism (disbelief) for himself, it is haraam for the Muslim to support of ceremonies of incredulity
(disbelief) or to praise (congratulate) another person for them.

Correspondingly, it is haraam for the Muslims to mirror (imitate) the skeptics (disbelievers) by hosting gatherings on these events, or trading endowments (gifts), disseminating (distributing) desserts or plates of sustenance (food), requiring some investment off work, etc, in light of the fact that the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated: “Whoever mimics (imitates) a people is one of them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood.

To entirety up: the mischief that outcomes from Muslims commending the Gregorian New Year (or Christmas) might be outlined in the accompanying focuses:

jesus birthday

1. The expectation (intention) and inspiration of these celebrations (festivals) and gatherings is shirk. Henceforth going to such gatherings or taking part in these occasions is indulging in shirk and impersonation of mushrikeen. Likewise it isn’t as per the instructing of Prophet Jesus (Alaihi Salaam) as he never endorses any such occasions for them or us.

So they are a blend of shirk and advancement (innovation), not with standing what they blend with that of unethical and insidiousness activities in these gatherings, as is notable. So how might we emulate (imitate) them in such manner?

2. The festival is malicious (evil) in all perspectives. It includes shrewd (evil) and degenerate (corrupt) activities. It is shrik and an asin apart from all the shameless (immoral) activity that occurs amid it. In view of that we can’t state that it is passable (permissible).

3. In the event that praising (celebrating) a birthday of a prophet is of any ideals (virtue) than for what reason don’t we commend the birthday events of all prophets known to us? Is it accurate to say that they are not prophets sufficiently commendable? Is it accurate to say that they were not sent by Allah?

4. The information of the birthday of any prophet isn’t known and is preposterous. The correct date of his introduction to the world isn’t known, as the antiquarians (historians) varied concerning this issue.

Henceforth it is better for a muslim to not commend this day and be far from it.

Also, Allah knows best.

Wishing Merry Christmas:

They say: (God) Most Gracious has sired (begotten) a child! For sure ye have advanced a thing generally gigantic! At it the skies are prepared to blast, the earth to part to shreds, and the mountains to tumble down in absolute demolish, that they ought to summon a child for (God) Most Gracious. For it isn’t consonant with the grandness of (God) Most Gracious that He ought to bring forth a son.{Quran 19:88-92}

Say: He is Allah the One and Only; Allah the Eternal Absolute; He begets not nor is He begotten, and there is none like unto Him.{Quran 112}

Welcome (greetings) on Merry Christmas

As indicated by Islam, God neither conceives nor he is sired and the greatest maltreatment you can provide for God is to state âHe sired (begot) a sonâ. This is on the grounds that; bringing forth is a lower creature capacity of sex which can’t be ascribed to God.

As indicated by Christianity, Jesus (pbuh) is the main generated child of God and Christmas is commended as his birthday. Since this is considered as the greatest maltreatment (abuse) given to God, Muslims are not permitted to wish Christians on this day.

A Christian whines about forbiddance of Muslims celebrating or praising individuals at Merry Christmas

All Praise be to the One God, who generates not, nor is sired (begotten).

You appear to have misconstrued the judgment of festivity of Merry Christmas as an issue of insolence for Christians. In all actuality, it is keeping in mind Allah and Jesus (pbuh) and the lessons of our Prophet Muhammad, (peace be upon him).

It is a fundamental piece of our confidence (faith) to dismiss festivities that have not been recommended or potentially that have a premise in deception, as unavoidably they lead to misguidance and changes in confidence (faith), as has occurred with Christianity.

There is not all that much or “periphery” about this. It is our fundamental ideal (right) to shield our confidence (faith) and practice from twisting and misrepresentation. Most likely nobody has a privilege to denounce us for this.

The word Christmas is derived from the Old English Cristes maesse, “Christ’s Mass.” :

(There is no sure custom of the date of Christ’s introduction to the world. Christian chronographers of the third century trusted that the formation of the world occurred at the spring equinox, at that point figured as March 25; subsequently the new creation in the manifestation (i.e., the origination) and demise of Christ should accordingly have happened around the same time, with his introduction to the world after nine months at the winter solstice, December 25).

… According to a Roman almanac, the Christian festival of Merry Christmas was celebrated in Rome by AD 336…

(The motivation behind why Merry Christmas came to be commended on December 25 stays indeterminate, yet most presumably the reason is that early Christians wished the date to agree with the agnostic Roman celebration denoting the “birthday of the unconquered sun” ) (natalis solis invicti); this celebration praised the winter solstice, when the days again start to protract (lengthen) and the sun starts to move higher in the sky.

The customary traditions associated with Merry Christmas have as needs be created from a few sources because of the fortuitous event of the festival of the introduction of Christ with the agnostic agrarian and sun oriented observances at midwinter.

In the Roman world the Saturnalia (December 17) was a period of fun and trade of blessings.

December 25 was additionally viewed as the birth date of the Iranian puzzle (mystery) god Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness. On the Roman New Year (January 1), houses were brightened with greenery and lights, and endowments (gifts) were given to youngsters and poor people.

To these observances were included the German and Celtic Yule ceremonies when the Teutonic clans entered into Gaul, Britain, and focal Europe. Nourishment and great partnership, the Yule log and Yule cakes, greenery and fir trees, and endowments and welcome all recognized diverse parts of this happy season.

Flames and lights, images (symbols) of warmth and enduring life, have dependably been related with the winter celebration, both agnostic (pagan) and Christian. Since the European Middle Ages, evergreens, as images of survival, have been related with Merry Christmas.

So as any normal individual can see, there is no solid reason for Christmas, nor did Jesus (peace be upon him) or his actual adherents observe Christmas or request that anybody observe Christmas, nor was there any record of anybody calling themselves Christians observing Merry Christmas until a few hundred years after Jesus (peace be upon him).

So were the sidekicks of Jesus (pbuh) all the more uprightly guided in not observing Merry Christmas or are the general population of today?

So on the off chance that you need to regard Jesus (peace be upon him),  as Muslims do, don’t commend some manufactured occasion that was matched with agnostic (pagan) celebrations and duplicate agnostic traditions.

Do you sincerely think God, or even Jesus himself, would favor or denounce a wonder such as this? On the off chance that you say support, clearly you are not keen on reality.

We ask Allaah, the One, Singular God, without any accomplices or children, the God of all creation and humankind, to control every one of us to the way of direction and earnestness.

Muslims Need to know about Christmas :

My dear siblings and sisters the reason I am composing this article today is a direct result of a national celebration that happens and 25th December that is the celebration of Christmas.

And it is a decent open door for us after (Surat Al-ikhlas) to educate our young siblings and sisters concerning the truth of the Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), about the truth of who Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is and why we as Muslims love Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and why Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is our Prophet and how our convictions are not the same as the convictions of everyone around us.

This is the correct time to tell our young siblings and sisters of this incredible man :

And this extraordinary identity and what we accept and believe about this man and what and how our convictions (beliefs) are not quite the same as alternate convictions (beliefs) in light of the fact that a significant number of our young youngsters they ask us for what valid reason don’t we observe (celebrate) Christmas?

For what reason wouldn’t we be able to have a Christmas tree?
For what reason wouldn’t we be able to do this and we do that?

Wishing Merry Christmas is Shirk

What’s more, to this we react that my dear siblings and sisters, Allah has made distinctive individuals upon various religions and every individual ought to pursue his very own religion particularly when they trust this religion is correct.

Indeed, my dear siblings and sisters, we endure different convictions
(beliefs) and we enable others to accept as they need to accept. Islam does not drive anyone to think anything besides rather we do have confidence in reality that Allah is one and we say that anyone who accepts other than this (Islam) isn’t right and mixed up in such manner and we don’t lecture prejudice.

We don’t lecture scorn (hatred) of others :

Yet we do lecture that Allah is one and anyone who accepts other than this, they are mixed up in their conviction (belief) and it is dependent upon them and Allah will choose their destiny yet our activity is to lecture (preach) and our activity is to tell others our convictions (beliefs) and it’s their activity on the off chance that they need to tune in or on the off chance that they would prefer not to tune in and that is among them and Allah.

So we tell our young siblings and sisters that each religion has its very own long periods of festivity (celebration), its own heavenly (holy) days Buddhists don’t praise celebrations of Islam so we don’t observe Buddhist celebrations.

Christians don’t praise (celebrate) the celebrations of alternate religions like Hinduism and correspondingly we as Muslims we don’t commend (celebrate) the sacred long periods (holy days) of different religions in light of the fact that by commending those heavenly days maybe we are commending the idea driving the heavenly day and for some Christians the 25th of December is the festival of the introduction of a man they called the Son of God (Astaghafirullah)

And we don’t trust God has a child so if we somehow happened to praise that day maybe we also are stating or we trust that God has a child (Nauzubillah)

And we don’t trust that God has a child (son)

So we say to them that we are not going to celebrate on this day despite the fact that obviously our religion instructors as great habits and we can state to them a nonexclusive explanation, for example, ”may God favor (bless) you, for example, ”may God direct (guide) you” we ought not say ”Merry Christmas” on the grounds that these expressions could be hazardous we would prefer not to favor Christmas.

We don’t have faith (believe) in Christmas,

We don’t trust Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was the child (son) of God and we’re commending his introduction to the world thusly yet we can state something conventional, for example, may ”God favor (bless) you, for example, a ”glad day today” something like this that doesn’t utilize the word Christmas doesn’t utilize any Christian motto or Christian expression.

We can make a conventional expression (generic phrase)

And we as Muslims it’s a decent chance to tell the general population around us that we likewise put stock (believe) in Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) to such an extent that no Muslim can be a Muslim except if and until the point when he cherishes (loves) the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) and he trusts (believes) in Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and it is totally passable to state Jesus Christ since Jesus Christ is the Latinized adaptation of al Masih Isa.

Al Messiah is a Christ implies (means) the one whom Allah has blessed, Messiah implies (means) the one Allah has wiped, blessed, he’s been picked (chosen) and Christos is the Latinized of Al-Masih, Christos is the person who’s been blessed so they say Christ is Messiah, this is the English or the Latin interpretation and Isa which is the Aramic of Isa, when they made an interpretation of it to Latin, it moved toward becoming Jesus (peace be upon him) so there’s nothing amiss (wrong) with saying Jesus Christ (peace be upon him).

Watch This Video on Merry Christmas

He is Christ, He is Messiah and Allah calls him in the Quran: ”Al-Masih Ia Ibnu Maryam” in excess of multiple times in the Quran.

Allah says: Al Masih ISA, Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) so we can state Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and we should state that Christ is our Prophet and we adore (love) Him.

And no Muslim is a Muslim until the point when he has faith in Jesus Christ and you know my dear siblings and sister that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) has been honored in manners that no other Prophet has been honored (blessed) with.

Allah gave him such a significant number of favors, he is one of the mightiest Prophets, He is (one of the best) outstanding amongst other prophets to stroll on the essence of this world and that is the purpose of our religion.

Jesus Christ was an extraordinary prophet,

He never professed (claimed) to be the Son of God, considerably less one of a Trinity so my dear siblings and sisters we as Muslims have faith in Jesus Christ and we trust we are the genuine supporters of Jesus Christ.

This is another point, my young siblings and sisters that we have to comprehend (understand), don’t feel that Christians pursue Jesus (peace be upon him) and we pursue Muhammad (peace be upon him) this isn’t right, we pursue (follow) Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them). We pursue (follow) Moses and Abraham (pbut).

We are the ones after (following) the majority of the Prophets of Allah and other people who say that Jesus (pbuh) is the Son of God have mixed up, they have misconstrued, they are not following the genuine lessons of Jesus Christ (pbuh).

My young siblings and sisters in Islam realize that Jesus Christ (pbuh) is our prophet.

And we are the genuine adherents of Jesus Christ (pbuh) and our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that when Jesus (pbuh) returns back to this world, He will make a decision by the Sharia, by the laws of Islam and his own supporters will perceive that they committed an error and they will at that point grasp the genuine confidence and that is monotheism that is Allah subhana WA Ta’ala is one.

Watch This Video!!! Wishing Merry Christmas

My dear siblings and sisters in Islam (Surat Al Ikhlas) instructs us that our Lord is one Lord, our God is one God, it is such a straight forward conviction (belief) but then such a significant number of different religions don’t have confidence in this, our activity is to all to lecture others that we have one flawless God, He is unique, every single other being must swing (turn) to him, He doesn’t have a kid nor is He sired (begotten) and there is nothing like him.

May Allah influence us of the individuals who to lecture this message, who trust this message, who show this message. (Ameen)

Discipline for Zina (Unlawful Sexual Intercourse)

In this life
Sex (fornication) is 100 lashes

“The male and female who submit sex (zina fornication) – flagellate every one of them with one hundred lashes, and let not sympathy for both of them shield you from following Allah’s religion, on the off chance that you put stock in Allah and the Last Day. Furthermore, let a gathering of devotees witness their discipline (punishment).” [Noble Quran 24:2]

Infidelity (adultery) is demise (death)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon hin) stated: “It isn’t allowed to shed the blood of any Muslim… With the exception of in three cases: a spirit for a spirit, the wedded individual who submits infidelity (adultery), and the person who spurns his religion…” [Bukhari and Muslim]

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated:

“When somebody submits Zina or beverages (drinks) wine, Allah expels his confidence (faith) from him, similarly as an individual takes his shirt off over his head”

Punishment for Zina

In the Hereafter

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated:

“On the Day of Resurrection, Allah won’t address nor take a gander at nor cleanse three kinds of individuals:- an elderly person who submits Zina, a lying lord (king) and a vainglorious poor person.”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated:

“We went on and touched base almost a pit which resembled and stove, out of which we could hear cries. We looked into it and exposed (naked) people (men and women), who shouted out when the flares contacted them from beneath. I asked: ‘Who are these, O Gabriel?’ He answered, ‘Guys and females who have submitted sex (fornication).'” [Bukhari]

The Prophet (harmony arrive) stated:

“The man who has laid his hand with desire on a lady who isn’t passable (permissible) to him will come on the Day of Judgment with his hand fixing to his neck. In the event that he kissed her, his lips will be cut in the Fire, and on the off chance that he had sex (intercourse) with her, his reproductive organs (private parts) will talk against him in the Day of Judgment saying: ‘I did what was illegal.’ Allah Most High will take a gander at him with indignation, and the substance all over will list and he will look run down and old. He will state: ‘What did I do?’

His tongue will observer against him saying, ‘I said what was illegal
(forbidden)’; his hands will talk and say, ‘We went after what was taboo
(forbidden)’; every one of his feet will state. ‘I went to a prohibited place.’; and his genitals (private parts)  will state, ‘I did it.’
A one of the guardian angels will state, ‘I heard it.’ and the other gatekeeper angels will state, ‘I composed (wrote) it,’ and Allah Most High will state, ‘I knew it yet I disguised (concealed) it.’ Then He will state ‘My heavenly attendants, take him and give him! an essence of My discipline (punishment). Extraordinary is My resentment against the man who had so little disgrace towards Me!'”

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated:

“In the event that somebody submits Zina with a wedded ladies, in the grave there will be a discipline (punishment) on him and on her equivalent to a large portion of the discipline (punishment) of this Ummah…”

All the praises for Allah

*The first thing the parents should be teaching their kids is TAUHID.*☝

These days people focus on teaching their kids ABCs, 123, animal names, nursery rhymes etc but they FAIL to teach them that which will save them from Hell fire – Tauhid.

Umm Sulaim (radiallaahu ‘anha) would teach her son Anas (radiallaahu ‘anhu), saying: “Say: ‘Laa illaaha il Allaah (none has the right to be worshipped in truth except Allaah).’

Tauhid : One Allah

Say: ‘Ash-hadu anna Muhammad ur Rasool-Allah (I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah).'” This was BEFORE the age of weaning [Siyar A’laam an-Nubalaa (2/305)

So you should be teaching Tauhid even before the age of TWO.

*Some tips on how you can Tawheed to your toddler age & above:*

1. Repeat to them the Kalimah –

La ilaha il Allah Muhammad ur Rasool Allah right from the day they are born all the time until they can pronounce it (doesnt matter if they dont pronounce it correctly as toddlers have limited speech skills).

2. Teach them Tawheed al Uloohiyyah –

Teach kids that we worship only Allah Subhaana wa ta’aala we only ask Him for help. When you pray Salaah & kids imitate you teach them we are praying only to Allah.

When your child needs something for example if a toddler is crying for a new toy teach them to make dua & ask Allah Subhaana wa ta’aala even for the smallest things.

3. Teach them Tawheed ar Ruboobiyyah –

Teach them that Allah is our Creator, the Only One. Tell them Allah Subhaana wa ta’aala created everything. Ask them who created you? Your mum ,dad? Siblings? the animals? Teach its Allah Subhaana wa ta’aala who created everything.

When they look at the Sun or stars tell them its Allah who Created everything. Make them focus on big & small creations. Even the ant & apple, tell them Allah created it. This makes them realise that EVERYTHING is created by Allah.

Kalimat Tauhid

4. Teach your child Tawakkal to rely upon Allah for everything –

When your chilld is scared or worried them dont tell them “I am here or your dad’s here dont worry’ teach them Allah is with you. He is the best protector. He will look after you. This will teach your child to rely upon Allah rather than you or any other human being. Even if u die or you are sick & your child is lonely, they will learn to rely on Allah and trust Him.

When your child is worried tell them Allah will make things better. When your child is sick teach them to turn to Allah to make dua to him & ask Him for shifa.

Watch This Video!!! Tauhid | Shirk | Dr. Zakir Naik

5. Teach them Tawheed al Asma wa Sifaat –

Teach your kids Names & Attributes of Allah Subhaana wa ta’aala from an early age. Ask them where is Allah, tell them Allah is Up- the Most High, above all Heavens. When a child is naughty tell them Allah is watching them that He sees all.

Always remind that even if your are not there Allah is with them in His Knowledge. If they throw a tantrum or become angry tell them that Allah Hears them. If your child is being impatient tell them Allah loves those who are patient. When you take your child to the beach or when they see rainbow tell them Allah is the Creator, He designed everything.

Remember the happiest people are the people of Tawheed so if u want your child to be content & happy both in dunya and akhirah teach them Tawheed right from day one.

True Love :

Once one of the companions came to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and this narrated by Al Hasani in Tafsir Al – Tabari. He says at the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) someone came to Him and said: Wallahi oh Messenger of Allah, we Love Allah so much, Wallahi we Love our Rabb (true love). Ok! We love Allah, who doesn’t love Allah?

We all love Allah, he made us! How can we not love him? So Verses revealed (Surah Al Imran – Verse No 31) ”Say if you claim to love Allah, if you really love Allah (Subhana Wa Ta’la) than follow me, Allah will love you (Quran – 3:31).

true love
True Love

Follow me, which mean follow the Messenger of Allah. If you follow the instructions of Allah it shows you love Him. What is the point of saying I love you and then you do things against the same person or the same supreme being. I love Allah but where is Salatul Fajr. I love Allah, where is my dress code? I Love Allah but I cannont give up adultery and gambling and pornography, but I love Allah.

You know the excuse they use today? Don’t judge my heart, Allah knows my heart.

Yes Allah knows your heart but your actions are proving how distant you are from Allah (Subhana Wa Ta’la). You yourself are making it difficult for people. May Allah (Subhan Wa Ta’la) help us all. May Allah help us improve.

It requires dedication, you say you love Allah, you need to change your life in accordance to that which pleases Allah.

And to know that you have to go to the instruction of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) because he was the Messenger who came to you. May Allah (Subhana Wa Taa’la) bless us all and may He strengthen us. (Ameen)

Allah (Subhana Wa Ta’la) tells us if you love Allah, follow Me, follow Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Allah will love you and he will forgive your sins.

May Allah (Subhan Wa Taa’la) grant us ease.

Wahhabbi :- It is obligatory upon the Muslim to follow the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), according to the way of the righteous salaf who followed the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the Sahaabah and those who followed them – may Allaah be pleased with them all. These people are called Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah (the People of the Sunnah and the Community).

Wahhabbi :

Mohammad ibn Abd al-Wahhaab

Everyone who follows the way brought by the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is one of them. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought the message of Tawheed (absolute Oneness of Allaah) and rejection of shirk (polytheism, or association of others with Allaah); he called people to worship Allaah alone and none other. With regard to the word “Wahhabbi”, some people use this word to refer to the message of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab ibn Sulaymaan al-Tameemi al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him), and they call him and his followers Wahhaabis.

Everyone who has any knowledge of the movement of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) and his message knows that he sought to spread the message of pure Tawheed and to warn against shirk in all its forms, such as attachment to the dead, or to trees and rocks, etc. In his ‘aqeedah (belief), he was following the way of the righteous Salaf and the Taabi’een [i.e., the earliest generations of Islam], as is indicated by his books and fatwas, and the books of his followers among his sons and grandsons and others.

All of these books are in print and are in circulation among the people. His message was in accordance with the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

Wahhabbism is not a new way or a new school of thought:

Rather it is a call to Tawheed and the revival of aspects of the religion that had been forgotten. What you have to do is to beware of those who warn you against the Wahhabbi, because they are warning you against following the truth and the early generation of this ummah. Applying the word “Wahhabbis” to those who adhere to correct belief and warning people against them is the way of the ignorant and biased.

We ask Allaah to keep you safe and sound.

If non-Muslims comes and tells me that they have not been exposed to Islam. Today in this world of science and technology its difficult. May be if you ask this question fifty years back it was possible. Toady in this age of science and technology specially the media bombarding the misconceptions about Islam you exposed to Islam may be the wrong Islam that Muslims are terrorist, Muslims are fundamentalists, Islam is a religion of killing, it degrades the women. They (Non Muslims) may be exposed to Islam but wrong Islam.

Now what happens to the non Muslims who is not exposed to the right teachings of Islam.

non muslims

I feel if a non Muslim hear something from media or any human being hear something in media he shouldn’t take it for granted as our creator Almighty Allah says in the Quran whenever you get information check it up before you passed it to the third person.

Whenever you get information its important for a person to checks it whether its right or wrong, as far as the message of Islam is concerned what if a non Muslims is living in a island or living somewhere where he doesn’t have any knowledge of Islam.

First its the duty of every Muslim to convey the message of Islam and irrespective whether we convey or not.

Our creator Almighty Allah says in the Quran that soon we shall show them our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.

Allah say the He will show them the signs to every human being before the human being dies so Allah takes it up upon Himself that He will convey this message to each and every human being whether the person born in non Muslim family or Muslim family. Allah will give this message to every human being.

Non-Muslims | Dawah | Islam

There was some survey done in 1950 in 2 tribes. these two tribes did not come in contact with modern civilization till as late as 1950. When the researchers went and tried to find out what was their way of life, these people they believe that God is one they believe He alone should be worship and they believe He didn’t begot anyone and they did the prostration (Sajdah). It was everything of Islam so when no external influence comes on the human being that person submits his will to God.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:

Every child born as a Muslim. Muslim means a person who submits his will to God, later on that person may be influenced by his parents, by his teachers, by his elders and he may start doing idol worshiping and he may start fire worshiping and than he may go on the wrong path and that is the reason when a non Muslim accept Islam the more appropriate word is revert. He was a Muslim born as a Muslim, he gets converts to the wrong religion and than comes back to the original faith that is Islam.

If you take three Children, one born to a christian family, one born to a jew family and one born to a hindu family. Isolate these three children completely from any external influence and when they grow up and you try to find out what is their way of life. It will be nothing but Islam. Only after external influence they start doing wrong things. This is scientifically proven.

This is a question that was put to Dr. Zakir Naik by one of our brothers in Islam. Did JESUS (PBUH) claim divinity?

Q. Assalamu Alaikum Brother – Brother, my name is Ali Hussain. Now in your talk, you have mentioned that… and even in your earlier talks which I have heard…you have mentioned that Jesus in Bible is no where claiming Divinity.

I have gone through a booklet, which was propagating Christianity… and implying that all the sufferings are healed by Jesus (peace be upon him), and it gives the reference that Jesus (pbuh) is saying, ‘I am the Lord who heals you’ and the reference was from Exodus Ch.15, Verse No. 26.

And even it went further, saying that in 1st John, Ch. 1 Verse No. 7… The blood of Jesus (pbuh) – cleanses us from all sins.

Now my emphasis is on the 1st reference, where he it is saying, ‘who heals you’. Now doesn’t this imply, or doesn’t it indicate that Jesus is claiming Divinity?

A. (Dr Zakir): The brother is quoting Exodus, Ch.15, Verse 26, and is saying Jesus says… ‘that I heal you’. Brother, ‘Exodus’ is a part of the old Testament… Old Testament. Jesus Christ never spoke in ‘Exodus’ – Never I said in my talk – there is not a single unequivocal statement in the whole Bible where Jesus (peace be upon him), himself says that ‘he is God’ or ‘Worship me’.

This is the Bible I have got by the Christians – King James Version. Everything what Jesus Christ spoke, is in red – You check it up – This will never be in red. It is not the words of Jesus – It is word of somebody else.

And even if I agree with you, for the sake of argument, that Jesus did say … ‘that he heals’ And the Qur’an does agree with that – and I said in my talk, we believe that he gave life to the dead, with God’s permission.

He healed those born deaf and blind with Gods Permission. So I have got no objection in agreeing that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), did heal the people. It’s our faith – Even we believe in it. But whatever he did, as the Bible says in the Gospel of Mathew, Ch.12, Verse No. 28… ‘He cast out devil by the Spirit of God. Gospel of Luke, Ch.11, Verse No.20 ‘With the finger of God, he cast out devil.

He did everything which bore witness of the Father. So I have got no objection in agreeing, that Jesus did do miracles. But regarding Exodus, it is not the word of Jesuss Christ (peace be upon him) Even if it is I have got no objection, because whatever miracles he did, Jesuss Christ (peace be upon him), said that… ‘This is done by Allah Subuhana Wa Taala.

And again Jesuss Christ (peace be upon him) said in the Gospel of Mathew, Ch. 24 Verse No. 24. ‘For there shall arise many false Christs, and false Prophets… and if it is so possible, they shall deceive the very elect’ – Miracle is not the test.

Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) said – Its mentioned in the Gospel of Mathew, Ch. No. 11, Verse No. 11… ‘Of those that are born of a woman, the greatest person is John the Baptist’ – those that are born of a woman – the greatest person is John the Baptist.

That means, he was greater even than Jesuss (peace be upon him)… because Jesuss was born to Mother Mary. So ‘Amongst all born of a women, the greatest is John the Baptist’ according to Jesuss (peace be upon him). Which miracle did he do? – Not a single. Therefore, miracle is not the criteria to make him God. Hope that answer a question.

Marrying Mr. Right

Marriages are made in heaven, but the wedding ceremony takes place on earth … and at times, besides the Mehr-e-Fatimi, there is nothing heavenly about it. (Marrying Mr. Right in wrong way town)

Many thousands of years ago, long before this earth was even created, when the pen of destiny was writing in the skies, the sweetest thing happened: the name of your sweetheart was placed next to yours.

Special consideration was taken in this sacred union by the Almighty Himself.

mr. right
Marrying Mr. Right

It was to be blessed with happiness and prosperity. But sadly on our part on earth, the way some of us conduct our wedding ceremonies nowadays, it seems that everyone but the Almighty, that loving Being responsible for our happiness, is relevant and needs to be obeyed and pleased.

Our ideas of having a modern un-Islamic and fancy wedding starts many years before we even find our better half. These crazy wedding fantasies are mostly obtained from romance novels, movies, sitcoms, fashion magazines and ofcourse, the bad example set by others in our own family and community.

We have all read about the simplicity of our Noble Prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him) and how his daughters got married, but there is always a big BUT to it:

“We know its sunnat to be simple, BUT we can’t exclude anyone from the invitation list.” “It’s our first daughter’s wedding and we know it has to be simple, BUT we can’t break her heart.”

The best justification yet for abandoning the blessed Prophetic way is this:

“Our neighbor got married last year and although they are only working class, they invited 1000 people. Must we now keep it simple and show they are richer than us? We are not cheapskates! Let’s show them and invite 2000 people.”

Mr. Right
Marrying Mr. Right

No one can plead ignorance as to how the ideal Islamic marriage is to be conducted nowadays, but somehow everyone seems to forget this when their daughter starts weeping or when the neighbours may comment how stingy one is for not making the send off of their child a most memorable one.

We seem to be more worried of the opinion of people and our status in society than the pleasure of the Almighty. For this disobedience, we are punished in various ways without even realizing it.

Let us now see what’s wrong with our wedding functions nowadays.

Besides the mandatory Nikah ceremony which is usually held in the Masjid, and the Waleemah (nuptial feast), it must be known that nothing else is really prescribed in Islam.

But Islam is only meant for the books nowadays, so many couples unofficially marry their sweethearts over facebook or by dating a few months or years before the official marriage ceremony.

When they do decide to tie the knot, they call upon the friendly community Shaikh or Imam to solemnize their Nikah in a Masjid. Sometimes, a special Shaikh is flown in from overseas to add to the status of the marriage. At times, the blessed environment of the Masjid is left out and the Nikah is solemnized in the hall.

The Shaikh or the Imam is only there to legalize the contract, and to make sure he turns a blind eye to all the wrong going on around him. The serious lecture on the rights of husband and wife in the Masjid is replaced by gags and giggles by a humorous MC in the hall, and the sacred atmosphere is very soon turned to one of merry-making and fun.

Sometimes, the Imam is even used as a rubber stamp to sanction all the evil that takes place at these gatherings; and after the white envelope is safely tucked away in his pocket, he will even pose for a photoshoot!

Yes, we have taken our religion for granted.

mr. right
Marrying Mr. Right in wrong way town

And this is why on the day when we are supposed to be pleasing the Almighty the most, we anger Him the most. We pay the price for this many years thereafter without even knowing it.

Some marriages end in messy divorces a short while thereafter, some couples have endless financial, in-laws, addiction, extra-marital or family issues, whilst others go through so much depression and anxiety in their marriage that they wish they could turn the clock back and would’ve never married.

Let’s not be foolish and destroy our future lives for one day of pleasure. Do it right so the rest of your life can go right.

There is no mehndi night, belly dancing night, meethu mauru (sweetmeat) night, or bachelor night. There are no lavish meals a week or two before the nikah ceremony, and late nights of gossiping and smoking. Yes, family and friends are welcome to visit and create an atmosphere of joy, but there is no elaborate occasion for this.

In fact, the custom of delaying the wedding for many months after the proposal is also un-Islamic as Islam teaches us to marry as soon as a suitable partner is found. About a month is a reasonable time to prepare, not ten to twenty months! The more the marriage is delayed, the more attention the families will pay to shopping and planning a lavish wedding.

It will also give more time for mischief makers to dig up the past of the future couple and start spreading rumors, which sometimes lead to the breakup of the couple or delaying it for several years.

The couple should separately attend marriage classes before their wedding, and register for various workshops offered in this regard.

Authentic literature can also be studied so that the couple makes a mental adjustment of what is expected of them after the Nikah. For boys in particular, your ten fishing buddies will be replaced by one killer mermaid, so prepare for it. Also remember that the ring band given at the time of engagement is no license to see each other or go out together before the Nikah.

There will be ample time for that afterwards.

Now comes the big day. Keep it simple.

Our most noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) told us that the wedding in which the least amount of expenditure is incurred, will have the most blessings.

He (peace be upon him) also told us that the function to which the poor is not invited, is cursed. So, let us compete in earning the pleasure of the Almighty, and not by competing with the Jone’s. Never take a loan for a wedding. Islam doesn’t place such a burden on one’s shoulder. There is simply no need to pitch up at the hall in a hot-air balloon or in your distant cousin’s yellow Ferrari. No need to walk down the aisle with a R40 000- gown which you will never wear thereafter, to the accompaniment of haraam music.

There is no need for a five-course meal, photoshoots and making elaborate videos of the day for which half the people don’t end up paying.

Watch This Video!!! Mr. Right in wrong way town

The function can be held in a humble tent or a Masjid or community hall – there is no need to hire out halls for as much as R50 000- per day when Muslims around the world are starving or fleeing for their lives from war-torn areas.

But extravagance is not the only issue at weddings. The show of outfits, intermingling of men and women and the mountains of makeup is even worse.

Many guests dress up as if they are getting married on the day, and some women apply so much make-up that a skyscraper can be built on their face! For them, scarves are meant for the shoulders, not the heads! Some brides and grooms tend to be religious in their daily lives, but on the wedding day they throw caution to the wind.

It’s also observed that some functions do have a partition to separate the ladies and the men, but as soon as the biryani is served, the floor crossing starts.

This is called yo-yo partition – up down, up down! The competition peaks when the designer gifts, or kunchas, are displayed for all to see in the hall or in the bride’s home.

Some gifts will have money made in the shape of trees, some will have expensive watches and exotic jewelry, some fruity perfumes and the latest outfits, whilst others will have grape juice in wine-shaped bottles and Swiss chocolates. It’s such shows of ostentation that invites burglars to break into one’s home on the wedding day.

The above are just a few of our crimes committed on the wedding day.

Watch This Video!!! Mr. Right in wrong way town

Apart from these crimes, we have the bad habit of arriving late as per “Indian Time” (two hours late) or according to “Arab Time” (five hours late).

Never mind the cook, the children and the elderly, as well as the sickly and diabetics are greatly inconvenienced by this. Those who need to travel a great distance to return home or those who do not want to miss their Fajr prayers are also pained. Let us take heed of these factors and change our ways.

For those who had a wedding reception in which some or all the above crimes were committed, there is a way out. Repent sincerely to the Almighty; as expiation, make sure that the same mistakes are not committed when you get your children married one day. Take it upon yourself to advise family and friends to keep their weddings simple.

Read the life story of the Queen of Paradise, Sayyidah Fatima az-Zahra and the Pure Wives of the Prophet, and try to emulate their example of simplicity and piety. Above all, break the cycle by setting a good example.

Finally, remember that weddings last only a day, but a marriage lasts a lifetime.

Let’s put the same effort daily in our marriages as we put on our wedding day, and our lives will become heaven on earth.  Aameen

Riba (Interest): Today’s world has a complex financial structure. Nearly every transaction is carried out through banks. One cannot possibly eliminate the banking completely from one’s life but at least we can control on how much interaction can be carried out. The more we can avoid the better.

Firstly, it is not permissible to work in riba or interest-based banks at all as it involves consuming riba, or writing it down or witness it or help those who do that.

It is one of the major issues in our society nowadays and most of our community is involved in banking jobs. The major scholars have issued fatwas stating that working in banks that deal with riba is haraam, (proven through hadith and Quranic verses) many people know this already yet continue with this sin. Even if the nature of work doesn’t involve dealing with riba directly it is still haram and it includes guards, cleaners, and other services as well. This is because they are witness to one of the grievous sins.

In fataawa al-lajnah al-Daaimah. 15/41 it is mentioned that:

It is not permissible for a Muslim to work in a bank that deals with riba, even if the work that the Muslim does has nothing to do with riba because he is giving the employees who do work with riba with what they need and he is helping them with their calculation of interest.

Riba | Interest | Bank Jobs

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“but do not help one another in sin and transgression”
[Al-Quran : al-Maa’idah 5:2]

Hence helping one in committing sin is a sin itself and a person will be held accountable for that. And hence it includes all personnel engaged in banking sector be it officials or guards or cleaners.

The Standing Committee (15/38) was asked: what is the ruling on working in the existing banks?

They replied:
Most of the transactions that are done nowadays involve riba, which is haraam according to the Qur’an and Sunnah and the consensus of the ummah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ruled that whoever helps the one who consumes riba or pays it by writing it down for him or bearing witness to it, etc, is a partner of the one who consumes it and the one who pays it, and they are all cursed and expelled from the mercy of Allah.

In Saheeh Muslim and elsewhere it is narrated that Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who pays it, the one who writes it down and the two who witness it, and he said, “They are all the same.”

Hence from these hadith, any doubt or question is completely eliminated any possibility of working in a bank. It is Haraam.

Muslims should avoid it and earn a living through permitted means. A person should not expose himself to the curse of Allah and his Messenger.
And if you happen to be part of any riba-based bank leave the job for the sake of Almighty Allah. Do not fear of poverty, for Allah is sufficient for everyone and He (SWT) will provide the means that one least expects.

The Standing Committee (15/18) was asked the following questions:

 1. Is there any specific section of the bank that is halaal, as many think, and if that is correct could you explain further?

There is no section in the riba-based bank that is exempt from this ruling according to what we know of the pure shari’a because all the bank employees are cooperating in sin and transgression.

2. What is the ruling on working as a maintenance engineer for one of the electronics companies that deal with some of the riba-based banks, where the company sells equipment (calculators, cameras, telephones) to the bank, and tells us, as maintenance engineers, to go to the bank to service this equipment on a regular basis?  Is this work haraam on the basis that the bank does its accounts and organizes its work on these machines, and are we thus helping them in sin?

They replied:
It is not permissible for you to work for companies that are as you described because that involves cooperating in sin and transgression.

And it says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah (15/48):

It is not permissible for a Muslim to work in banks that deal with riba because that involves helping them to engage in riba-based transactions in one way or another, by writing them down, witnessing them, guarding the bank, etc. Helping them in that manner is cooperating in sin and transgression, which Allah forbade when He said (interpretation of the meaning):

“but do not help one another in sin and transgression”
[Al-Quran : al-Maa’idah 5:2]

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: is it permissible to work for a riba-based organization as a driver or guard?

He replied:
It is not permissible to work for a riba-based organization even if you are a driver or a guard because accepting employment with a riba-based organization implies that you approve of them, as whoever denounces something could not work to serve its interests. If he works to serve its interests, he must approve of it, and the one who approves of something haraam has a share in its sin. With regard to those who are directly involved in writing down transactions, transferring money, depositing money, etc, are undoubtedly dealing directly with something that is haraam.

Watch This Video!!!

It was proven from the hadeeth of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who pays it, the one who writes it down and the two who witness it, and he said, “They are all the same.”

From Fataawa Islamiyyah, 2/401

And there are other well-known fatwas which forbid working in riba-based banks, no matter what the kind of work involved.
Based on this, if you are indulged in such sin than you have to repent to Allah from what you have done in the past, and leave this work, seeking the help of Allah, putting his trust in Him and being certain that He will grant provision. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things”
[al-Talaaq 65:2-3]

We ask Allah to make us independent by means of that which is halaal so that we will have no need of that which is haraam.

May Allah protect us all.

Ruling on being naked when taking a bath

Can a person take bath without any clothes on his body?

Praise be to Allaah

Yes, it is permissible for a person to take a bath naked, because this was reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) as was reported by Maymoonah (may Allaah be pleased with her, (who said that she and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) took a bath together, washing from a large bowl in which there were traces of dough.

And it was reported in several places as narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim, and he bathed with ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her).

There is no saheeh hadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to indicate that it is obligatory to cover oneself when bathing.

It was reported that some of the Salaf used to cover themselves, but this is not obligatory according to Islam. It is sufficient to be far from where people can see you.

Some scholars use as evidence the hadeeth in al-Saheehayn which speaks of Moosa (peace be upon him) bathing naked (al-Bukhaari, 274; Muslim, 339). Al-Nawawi entitled the chapter in Saheeh Muslim in which this hadeeth occurs “the permissiblity of bathing naked when one is alone.”

It was also reported that Ayyoob (peace be upon him) bathed naked. (Saheeh al-Bukhaari, 275).

Imaam al-Nawawi said:

We have already seen in the previous chapter that it is permissible to uncover the ‘awrah when necessary, when one is alone, such as when taking a bath, urinating, engaging in intimate relations with one’s wife, and so on.

In all of these cases it is permissible to uncover one’s ‘awrah when one is alone, but in front of other people it is forbidden to uncover the ‘awrah in all cases.

The scholars said:

Covering oneself with a wrapper or something similar when taking a bath alone is preferable than uncovering oneself. Uncovering oneself is permissible for the period of time that is essential to take a bath, etc., but uncovering oneself for longer than that is haraam according to the most correct opinion… and Allaah knows best.
